For Contractors and Builders
You can send this page link to your builder, for use in estimating your onsite project:
Besides the fact that our shell walls are pre-panelized, one big difference that Builders will note is our Self-supporting Roof System, with no “compression ring” needed, as there is no outward-bearing force on the walls.
This is accomplished via triple compound angle cuts in the framing members of the roof panels, engineered to support one another, and needing no additional vertical (stud) support.
All the wall and roof panels are precision-engineered to within 1/32” for quick and efficient assembly on the foundation.
Due to structural factors and the types of high-quality materials and hardware used, these buildings are highly resistant to the forces of Nature… earthquakes, hurricanes, exposure to elements.
We trust that this page will provide you with a quick view of our building system, and please be in touch with us for additional answers and information that we can provide to keep your project running smoothly.
Bidding on New Construction
This page will give you a quick introduction and overview of working with our building system. Please contact us for specific materials lists and any other added assistance we can provide to you in estimating each individual job.
Builders are welcome to visit and tour a constructed Multi-Facetted Home before performing an assembly -- to view and inspect a finished home, and obtain tips that will help your assembly day(s) go smoothly and efficiently.
All of our home shell packages also come with a helpful and detailed Assembly Manual, which guides you through the preparation, foundation specs and assembly process.
Panelized Home Shells
Natural All-Heart Redwood (framing)
Port Orford Cedar (siding/sheathing)
By making your new home weather-tight on one clear day,
you minimize or avoid the problems of water (rain) and weather damage to your beautiful woods.
Step 1. According to the architectural plans…
Walls and roof panels are framed and sided(including door and window R/O's) in our indoor facility.
Screw-framed, SS ring shank siding nails, precision-built.
While we are constructing your building components, you will prepare the foundation, either concrete pad or post-and-pier.
Then your trucker will pick up the building components from our Big Island manufacturing facility.
Step 2. Wall Assembly - (morning)
Each wall panel goes up in just a few minutes...
In about an hour you've completed your entire wall assembly!
Lean your roof panels up against the walls,
and… Slide them up into place!
The MFH roof systems are constructed with specially engineered panels, cut at compound angles.
(There is no outward-bearing pressure from the roof system, no need for any kind of compression ring with this building system.)
Similar to a gothic arch, once assembled, the MFH panels support themselves and they will bear considerable weight, even before bolting.
Step 4. Apply the included roofing underlayment ...
Weather-tight in One Day!
Now you are ready to proceed with bolting, installing your doors, windows and trim package on the following day(s).
(As may be applicable to your custom floor plan) next you will construct any interior rooms, attached lanai areas, etc. on-site.
What’s included from MF Homes, and what will I need to supply?
MFH supplies the panelized exterior shell, vinyl windows, exterior doors, roofing underlayment and possibly some additional matching lumber for decks, stairs, railings, room additions, some interior doors, etc.
Please contact us for an actual itemized MFH material list for each job, for use in preparing your bid.
Each Hale-6, Hale-8 or Hale-12 goes up in just one day.
For larger combination homes (multiple connected Hales),
allow one day for the assembly of each separate Hale portion
of your building project.
If you have any rectangular room connection sections,
(for connecting two Hale's together) the walls will come pre-made for you.
We will supply the matching cedar and redwood for you to build the roof/ceiling section onsite.
Add one to two days for your on-site framing/sheathing of each connecting roof section.
