Michael Joslin is the original developer of the
concept and design of the Multi-Facetted Homes and their unique self-supporting
panelized building system. He is the President and CEO of the Company, and
he gives personal design and development service to every client.
Having designed and produced some 250
Hawaiian hales since 1989, Michael has developed and refined his
knowledge and expertise with various building materials and methods,
County
building codes and permitting, and every aspect of
designing, building, shipping and
assembling these home packages.
A creative and talented designer,
Michael is also General Manager of the Company’s operations. He stays abreast of lumber
and materials pricing and availability, as well as overseeing ongoing aspects of
the various departments of the Company, including products design and
development, quality control, model home grounds development and maintenance, and he conducts
personal tours of the model homes.
His background includes
experience in residential
building, remodeling, personnel training and management, six years self-employed
in building materials sales, wholesale, liquidation and retail markets. Former
owner, developer and general manager of retreat/vacation centers in California.
Michael lives with his family in a
Multi-Facetted Home and he enjoys boating, scuba
diving, biking and having time with his family.
Lon Whelchel, AIA
Lon Whelchel is Corporate Vice President and one
of the Corporate Directors of Multi-Facetted Homes, Inc..
The 2003 President of the Maui AIA
(American Institute of Architects), Lon has
earned an excellent reputation spanning 37 years of commercial and residential architecture.
Licensed to practice architecture in five (5) states, Lon qualified for the
NCARB (National Council of Registration Boards) in 1969, giving him
pre-registration in all states of the USA.
Lon has been the recipient
of prestigious architectural design awards, and he was appointed to the 2003 Cultural Resource
Commission by the Mayor of Maui County.
Since 1991, we have been
pleased to have Lon
as a core member of our team,providing our clients with his professional services
including the architecturally
stamped house plans for each of the Multi-Facetted
Homes.
Lon’s hobbies include flying his
Beechcraft, motorcycles, classic cars and enjoyment of life!
Clare Joslin, EA, MH,
DIHom, LAc.
Clare Joslinheads up the Administration
Office with a
professional background
in corporate accounting and management capacities, and
she earned her license as a tax
professional (E.A.) in 1979.
She has worked in large corporate
settings,establishing computerized accounting
systems, training and supervising accounting staffs, as well as in privatepractice -- serving up to
250 (corporate and individual) tax and accounting clients per year.
With
the collaboration of architects and engineers, she and her husband Michael
established and developed Multi-Facetted Homes beginning in 1989, and Clare
continues to oversee the office and computer systems, financial accounting,
website development and maintenance, and other administrative aspects of the
Company.
Clare enjoys time with her husband, daughters
and horses at their Kea'au home.
With a primary interest in natural health care, Clare
has also pursued her interests in that field, and has earned the following
credentials: Master Herbalist, Master of Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture, and Diplomate
of Classical Homeopathic Medicine.
She
has operated a
beautiful Multi-Facetted designed clinic,
serving up to 500 patients, and she
currently works on horses. (Click

Timothy Gosse
Tim
is our Production Manager,
supervising both the Wall and Roof Panel
Shops as well as assisting our customers with lumber orders, shipping and
receiving, inventory and other aspects of production management.
Over the
past several years Tim has worked his way up to this position, working with precision framing, siding
and finish work, and then as our most recent Wall Shop Supervisor.
Tim's
previous professional history includes a 13-year career covering many aspects of manufacturing
and personnel management. Tim brings a cheerful, can-do demeanor and a wide variety of skills and abilities to
our production team.
Originally from Wisconsin, Tim and his wife
reside in Puna, here on the Hilo side of the island.
Naomi Yamamoto
Naomi is our Administrative Assistant,
and she may be the voice who greets you on the telephone. With a
degree in Office Administration and Technology, majoring in Accounting, Naomi
takes care of the administrative side of customer servicing for MFH's clients'
home projects. She also assists in human resources and other
administrative areas of the company's operations.
Naomi's professional
background includes various office and clerical positions over the past nineteen

years. Born and raised in the Hilo area, Naomi enjoys going to the beach,
crafts, and most of all spending time with her young daughter, Sarah.
Kevin
B. Jackson
With a BA in Art History
and a lifelong family background in artistic design, woodworking and fine craftsmanship,
Kevin has spent the past
16 years in the drafting profession, progressing into Computer-Assisted (CAD) Drafting.
Kevin drafts and prints architectural
plans for MFH customers, and he assists us with architectural sketches and floor
plan sheets, such as you find on our website. Kevin also offers a
special service for clients, in personally walking their architectural plans
through the County building departments for permitting.
Kevin is skilled in
finish woodworking and he is currently building his own new home in the
Hilo area. Besides construction, Kevin enjoys aikido, fishing,
computers and silk painting.
Chad Midel
Chad
is now the Supervisor of our Wall Panel Shop and the Trim
Department. Over the past several years Chad has worked
in our finish department and then primarily in the wall panel shop, fabricating
the many varieties of wall panels that are custom-designed for our various
customers. Chad now manages our Wall Panel Shop and he also helps to train
new workers in the Wall Panel Framing department.
Chad's past professional experience includes painting, warehouse
driving and forklift operation and other skills. Chad enjoys weight
lifting, playing billiards, and he lives with his family
in Hilo.
Kamali'i Burch
Kamali'i is also part of our Maintenance department,
where he wears many hats and performs a variety of responsibilities. His
carpentry and production background includes three years as a truss fabricator.
In addition, Kamali'i has
worked with heavy equipment and many aspects of onsite construction, including
keeping work areas safe and orderly during construction activities. He has
also worked as a security guard and with fumigation treatment of homes and
offices.
Kamali'i lives here in
Puna with his wife and children and he enjoys spending time with them, and doing
outdoor activities like camping and fishing, working on cars and lifting trucks.
Keith Kuamo’o
Keith isan all-around member of our
maintenance team. He was
previously the Supervisor of our Roof Panel manufacturing team.
Before
joining our crew, Keith's past experience in
home improvements included cabinet work, painting and
drywall.
Keith is a life-long
local-area resident who also enjoys ATV riding,
and time at the beach.
Carol Bigelow
Carol
is a member of our model home maintenance team. Originally from
Massachusetts, Carol has professional experience in estate maintenance and
cleaning.
She is
also an active mom raising their three children, and she is experienced in
teaching and home-schooling. Carol also assisted her husband
Jeremy to build their Multi-Facetted Home here in the Kea'au area.
Joe Barcia and his crew
have been providing the landscape design and maintenance for the MFH model home
grounds for many years. A double for "Indiana Jones" in the most
recent up-coming movie... A professional landscape designer, Joe
lives in the Kea'au area with his wife and daughters.
Jeremy Bigelow
Still a member of our construction team, our
former Production Foreman, Jeremy is a
master woodworker with experience in everything from residential framing to fine
furniture design and craftsmanship.
Trained as a machinist at Western Mass.
Precision Institute, he has extensive experience in supervising manufacturing
methods, innovating and improving accuracy and efficiency processes, as well as
training and supervising production teams.
Jeremy also operates his own business,
creating custom-designed furniture and other woodworking projects for his
clients.
When not working, Jeremy enjoys preparing a
variety of cuisine and having
time with his wife and three children, including outdoor activities like camping, hiking,
fishing
and canoeing.
Jeremy and his family recently constructed their own Multi-Facetted Home, here on the Big Island.
